General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL3595) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TMC2, targeting the amino acid region 805–906 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human TMC2 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TMC2 (transmembrane channel-like 2) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes a transmembrane protein essential for mechanotransduction in the hair cells of the inner ear, where it functions as a pore-forming subunit of the mechanically gated ion channel complex responsible for converting sound and gravitational stimuli into electrical signals for auditory and vestibular perception. Located on chromosome 20p13, TMC2 belongs to the TMC gene family and shares structural and functional similarities with its paralog TMC1, forming heterodimers or homodimers within the transduction complex alongside accessory proteins such as PCDH15, LHFPL5, TMIE, and CIB2/3. The protein's six predicted transmembrane domains and conserved TMC domain enable high calcium permeability and adaptation to mechanical forces via tip links in stereocilia. CABT-BL3595 is suitable for use in IHC (1:50–1:500) application. CABT-BL3595 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
