General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5854) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human TIMM23, targeting the amino acid region 111–209 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with TIMM23 from mouse, rat, dog, pig, cow, horse, and rabbit. It has been affinity purified by protein A. TIMM23 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit Tim23, a core component of the TIM23 complex essential for the translocation of nuclear-encoded precursor proteins across the inner mitochondrial membrane into the matrix. Located on chromosome 10q11.22, the gene spans approximately 31 kb and produces a 209-amino-acid protein with four transmembrane domains, exhibiting 22% identity to its yeast homolog. The Tim23 protein anchors in the inner membrane, exposes domains in both the intermembrane space and cytosol, and forms the voltage-dependent channel that links the outer (TOM) and inner (TIM23) membrane translocases, ensuring efficient precursor protein transfer driven by the mitochondrial membrane potential.
CABT-BL5854 is suitable for use in IHC-P (1:100–1:500), IHC-F (1:100–1:500), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100–1:500) applications.
CABT-BL5854 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
