This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL3358) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human SLC5A8, targeting the amino acid region 301–400 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with SLC5A8 from rat, mouse, chicken, dog, and cow. It has been affinity purified by protein A. SLC5A8 has been shown to transport iodide by a passive mechanism (Rodriguez et al., 2002 [PubMed 12107270]) and monocarboxylates and short-chain fatty acids by a sodium-coupled mechanism (Gopal et al., 2004 [PubMed 15322102]). In kidney, SLC5A8 functions as a high-affinity sodium-coupled lactate transporter involved in reabsorption of lactate and maintenance of blood lactate levels (Thangaraju et al., 2006 [PubMed 16873376]). CABT-BL3358 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
CABT-BL3358 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
