Introduction
JMJD8 (Jumonji Domain Containing 8) is a member of the Jumonji C (JmjC) domain–containing protein family, a group of proteins typically associated with Fe(II)- and 2-oxoglutarate–dependent dioxygenase activity. Unlike many classical JmjC proteins that function as nuclear histone demethylases, JMJD8 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and is thought to have non-histone regulatory roles.
