General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL2790) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR10T2. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR10T2 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the olfactory receptor 10T2, a G protein-coupled receptor involved in the detection of odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium to initiate olfactory signaling. Located on the reverse strand of chromosome 1 at position 158,398,522-158,399,466 (GRCh38), it belongs to the olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily T and is also known by aliases such as OR1-3 and HsOR1.4.1. The encoded protein, with UniProt accession Q8NGX3, features seven transmembrane domains typical of olfactory receptors and participates in pathways like olfactory signaling, where it couples with G proteins to trigger neuronal responses for smell perception. Olfactory receptors like OR10T2 are expressed primarily in the olfactory sensory neurons of the nose, contributing to the human genome's large repertoire of approximately 400 functional OR genes, which enable the discrimination of thousands of distinct odors. While specific ligands for OR10T2 remain under investigation, its role aligns with the broader class of class A/1 (rhodopsin-like) GPCRs, which are crucial for sensory transduction. OR10T2 has orthologues in approximately 30 other species, indicating evolutionary conservation, particularly among mammals.
CABT-BL2790 is suitable for use in IHC 1 (50-1:200), WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
CABT-BL2790 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
