Product Background

Gene summary
NAA20 (N(Alpha)-Acetyltransferase 20, NatB Catalytic Subunit) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with NAA20 include n-terminal acetyltransferase deficiency. Among its related pathways are Phase II conjugation. GO annotations related to this gene include transferase activity, transferring acyl groups other than amino-acyl groups and peptide alpha-N-acetyltransferase activity. NAT5 is a component of N-acetyltransferase complex B (NatB). Human NatB performs cotranslational N(alpha)-terminal acetylation of methionine residues when they are followed by asparagine (Starheim et al. , 2008 [PubMed 18570629]).
Antigen Description
NAT5 is a component of N-acetyltransferase complex B (NatB). Human NatB performs cotranslational N(alpha)-terminal acetylation of methionine residues when they are followed by asparagine (Starheim et al. , 2008
Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against a full length recombinant NAT5. Catalytic subunit of the NatB complex which catalyzes acetylation of the N-terminal methionine residues of peptides beginning with Met-Asp, Met-Glu, Met-Asn and Met-Gln. Proteins with cell cycle functions are overrepresented in the pool of NatB substrates. Required for maintaining the structure and function of actomyosin fibers and for proper cellular migration. N-terminal acetyltransferase B complex catalytic subunit NAT5 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NAT5 gene. 0The function about NAA20 antigen include N-acetyltransferase activity; acyltransferase activity; peptide alpha-N-acetyltransferase activity; transferase activity.
