General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL2336) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MBD4, targeting the amino acid region 68–300 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with MBD4 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of nuclear proteins related by the presence of a methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD). These proteins are capable of binding specifically to methylated DNA, and some members can also repress transcription from methylated gene promoters. This protein contains an MBD domain at the N-terminus that functions both in binding to methylated DNA and in protein interactions and a C-terminal mismatch-specific glycosylase domain that is involved in DNA repair. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
CABT-BL2336 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:20,000–1:80,000), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:2,000) applications.
CABT-BL2336 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.02% Sodium Azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
