General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5117) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MAP4, targeting the amino acid region 906–1089 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Microtubule-associated protein 4 (MAP4) is a ubiquitously expressed, non-neuronal protein that binds to microtubules to promote their polymerization and stability, while also regulating intracellular organelle transport by modulating the activity of motor proteins such as kinesin and dynein. Encoded by the MAP4 gene on human chromosome 3p21.31, it consists of 1,152 amino acids in its canonical isoform with a molecular weight of approximately 121 kDa and exists in multiple isoforms differing in microtubule-binding repeats and projection domain length. Structurally, MAP4 features an N-terminal projection domain (P-domain) that interacts with cargo-motor complexes and a C-terminal microtubule-binding domain (MBD) that anchors it to microtubules, enabling its roles in cytoskeletal organization across diverse tissues.
CABT-BL5117 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
CABT-BL5117 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
