Intended Use

Human Eotaxin-3 ELISA Development Kit contains the key components required for the quantitative measurement of natural and/or recombinant Eotaxin-3 in a sandwich ELISA format. General Description

Eotaxin-3/CCL-26 belongs to a family of CC chemokines, which are potent chemoattractants for eosinophils that signal through the CCR3 receptor.¹ It is produced by endothelial cells stimulated with IL-4 or IL-13. Eotaxin-3 selectively targets cells expressing CCR3, including eosinophils, basophils, T cells and monocytes. It has been reported that eotaxin-3 is an antagonist for CCR2.² Eotaxin-3 has similar activity to Eotaxin and Eotaxin-2, but the three Eotaxins share only a low degree of sequence homology. Eotaxin-3 is up-regulated in the context of a T helper 2 mediated inflammatory bowel disease via the signal transducer and activator of transcription 6, thus suggesting that the intestinal epithelium actively participates in the recruitment of eosinophils at the site of inflammation.¹
