General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL4636) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human FAM78A, targeting the amino acid region 5–57 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human FAM78A from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. FAM78A (Family with Sequence Similarity 78 Member A) is a poorly characterized protein-coding gene that is broadly expressed in human tissues. It encodes a putative intracellular protein with no well-defined enzymatic domains, suggesting a regulatory or scaffolding role rather than a catalytic function. Bioinformatic analyses indicate that FAM78A is conserved across vertebrates, implying an evolutionarily preserved cellular function, although its precise molecular mechanism remains unknown. Based on expression and interaction predictions, FAM78A may participate in fundamental cellular processes such as protein complex assembly, intracellular signaling, or transcriptional regulation. Some transcriptomic studies have associated FAM78A expression changes with developmental processes and disease contexts, including cancer, but these links remain largely correlative. Overall, FAM78A is considered an uncharacterized or low-annotation gene, with functional insights still awaiting direct experimental validation.
CABT-BL4636 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:1,000), IHC (1:20–1:200), IF/ICC (1:20–1:200) applications.
CABT-BL4636 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
