General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-25553) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TUBB, targeting the amino acid region 202–292 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human TUBB from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Tubulin beta class I (TUBB) is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the β-tubulin protein, a key structural component of microtubules essential for cellular processes such as mitosis, intracellular transport, and maintenance of cell shape. Located on the short arm of chromosome 6, the TUBB gene produces a protein that forms heterodimers with α-tubulin to polymerize into microtubules, which serve as tracks for motor proteins and contribute to the cytoskeleton. Mutations in TUBB are associated with complex cortical dysplasia with other brain malformations 6 (CDCBM6), a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by intellectual disability, epilepsy, and structural brain abnormalities, highlighting its critical role in neuronal migration and cortical development during embryogenesis. Beyond neurodevelopment, TUBB expression is broad, including in the skin and other tissues, and it has been investigated as a potential biomarker for certain cancers due to its involvement in microtubule dynamics, which can be targeted by chemotherapeutic agents like taxanes. The gene's product, often referred to as TBB5, is one of several β-tubulin isoforms, each with tissue-specific functions, underscoring the diversity in microtubule regulation across cell types.
DPABH-25553 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-25553 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
