This product (Catalog No. DPABH-18419) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TMTC4, targeting the amino acid region 274–388 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human TMTC4 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TMTC4 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a transmembrane protein belonging to the TMTC family of O-mannosyltransferases, which catalyze the transfer of mannose residues to serine or threonine residues on target proteins during O-mannosylation in the endoplasmic reticulum. Located on chromosome 13q32.3, the TMTC4 protein features an N-terminal transmembrane domain and C-terminal tetratricopeptide repeats, enabling its role in protein modification and cellular processes such as calcium homeostasis. Mutations in TMTC4 have been linked to progressive sensorineural hearing loss, particularly affecting hair cells in the inner ear, as demonstrated in both human pedigrees and mouse models where Tmtc4 deficiency leads to cochlear dysfunction without disrupting initial auditory development; it is associated with autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness 122 (DFNB122).

DPABH-18419 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
