General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-09113) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human SSR2, targeting the amino acid region 20–136 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. SSR2 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the beta subunit of the signal sequence receptor (SSR), a heterotetrameric complex consisting of alpha (SSR1), beta (SSR2), gamma (SSR3), and delta (SSR4) subunits, which functions as a glycosylated transmembrane receptor in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane to facilitate the translocation of nascent polypeptides across the ER during protein synthesis. The SSR complex, also known as the translocon-associated protein (TRAP) complex, interacts with the Sec61 translocon to recognize signal sequences on nascent proteins and ensure their proper insertion into the ER, thereby playing a critical role in the secretory pathway and ER protein homeostasis. Located on the reverse strand of chromosome 1 at position 156,009,041-156,020,968, the SSR2 gene spans approximately 12 kb and produces multiple transcript variants, with the primary isoform encoding a 183-amino-acid protein that includes four transmembrane domains and is expressed ubiquitously across human tissues, particularly in cells active in protein secretion such as hepatocytes and pancreatic cells.
DPABH-09113 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-09113 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
