General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-09244) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human SP6, targeting the amino acid region 186–376 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Transcription factor Sp6 (Specificity protein 6) is a member of the Sp/KLF family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors that bind GC-rich DNA sequences to regulate gene expression. It functions primarily as a nuclear transcriptional regulator involved in embryonic development, particularly in epithelial tissue differentiation, limb development, and odontogenesis (tooth formation). SP6 can act as either a transcriptional activator or repressor depending on cellular context and interacting cofactors, thereby modulating developmental gene expression programs. It plays a critical role in ectodermal organ formation, including skin, hair, and teeth, by regulating downstream target genes involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations or dysregulation of SP6 have been associated with developmental defects affecting tooth and ectodermal structures. Overall, SP6 is an essential developmental transcription factor with key roles in morphogenesis and tissue specification.
DPABH-09244 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000), IHC (1:200–1:800), IF/ICC (1:300–1:1,200) applications.
DPABH-09244 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
