This product (Catalog No. DPABH-25853) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human SLC19A3, targeting the amino acid region 188–315 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human SLC19A3 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. SLC19A3 is a member of the reduced folate family of micronutrient transporter genes. It is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane thiamine transporter that lacks folate transport activity yet mediates high affinity thiamine uptake propably via a proton anti-port mechanism. Mutations in this gene cause biotin-responsive basal ganglia disease (BBGD); a recessive disorder manifested in childhood that progresses to chronic encephalopathy, dystonia, quadriparesis, and death if untreated. Patients with BBGD have bilateral necrosis in the head of the caudate nucleus and in the putamen. Mutations in this gene also cause a Wernickes-like encephalopathy.
DPABH-25853 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate) applications.
DPABH-25853 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
