General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-15078) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human SHMT1, targeting the amino acid region 301–400 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with SHMT1 from mouse, rat, and rabbit. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes the cytosolic form of serine hydroxymethyltransferase, a pyridoxal phosphate-containing enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and 5,10-methylene tetrahydrofolate. This reaction provides one-carbon units for synthesis of methionine, thymidylate, and purines in the cytoplasm. This gene is located within the Smith-Magenis syndrome region on chromosome 17. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 1. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. DPABH-15078 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application. DPABH-15078 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
