General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-17984) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human RAB3A, targeting the amino acid region 20–193 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. RAB3A is a protein-coding gene in humans located on the short arm of chromosome 19 at position 19p13.11, which encodes the Ras-related protein Rab-3A, a small GTPase belonging to the RAB family of proteins. This protein functions primarily in the regulation of vesicular trafficking, playing a central role in the late stages of regulated exocytosis and secretion by facilitating the recruitment, tethering, and docking of secretory vesicles to the plasma membrane. In neurons, Rab-3A is particularly important for modulating neurotransmitter release at synapses, where it cycles between GTP-bound (active) and GDP-bound (inactive) states to control synaptic vesicle dynamics, although it is not essential for the core exocytosis process itself. The gene consists of five exons and produces a 23 kDa protein with a conserved Rab GTPase domain essential for its interactions with effectors like rabphilin-3A and RIM1.
DPABH-17984 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-17984 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
