General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16833) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human RCE1. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with RCE1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by protein A. RCE1, also known as Ras converting CAAX endopeptidase 1, is a gene that encodes an integral membrane protease belonging to the metalloproteinase family, primarily localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and responsible for cleaving the C-terminal CAAX motif from prenylated proteins such as Ras. This endoproteolytic processing is essential for the proper membrane targeting and activation of these proteins, including key signaling molecules like H-Ras, N-Ras, and K-Ras, which are implicated in cellular growth and oncogenesis. RCE1 and related proteases like ZMPSTE24 are involved in prenylprotein processing pathways that, when disrupted, can contribute to progeroid disorders such as mandibuloacral dysplasia and restrictive dermopathy.
DPABH-16833 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:50–1:200), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:50–1:200) applications.
DPABH-16833 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
