General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04725) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human RBP1, targeting the amino acid region 64–135 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human RBP1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Retinol-binding protein 1 (RBP1), also known as cellular retinol-binding protein 1 (CRBP1), is a protein encoded by the RBP1 gene in humans, located on chromosome 3q23. This protein serves as an intracellular carrier that facilitates the transport, storage, and metabolism of retinol (vitamin A alcohol) within cells, playing a crucial role in maintaining retinoid homeostasis essential for processes such as vision, growth, reproduction, and epithelial cell differentiation. Unlike retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4), which handles plasma transport of retinol from the liver to peripheral tissues, RBP1 operates intracellularly and interacts with membrane receptors like STRA6 to support retinol uptake.
DPABH-04725 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-04725 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
