General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-02968) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human RBM28, targeting the amino acid region 411–760 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human RBM28 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. RBM28 is a protein-coding gene located on human chromosome 7q32.1 that encodes RNA-binding motif protein 28, a 759-amino-acid nucleolar protein characterized by four RNA recognition motifs (RRMs) and involved in RNA processing, particularly through specific association with spliceosomal small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) U1, U2, U4, U5, and U6. This protein exhibits ubiquitous expression across human tissues and localizes primarily to the nucleolus, where it contributes to spliceosomal small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particle assembly and ribosome biogenesis. Mutations in RBM28 are associated with alopecia, neurologic defects, and endocrinopathy syndrome (ANES), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by sparse or absent scalp hair, neurological abnormalities such as intellectual disability and seizures, and endocrine issues including delayed puberty. A homozygous missense mutation (L351P) in the third RRM domain has been identified in affected individuals, leading to protein destabilization, reduced levels, and cellular phenotypes like dilated endoplasmic reticulum and fewer free ribosomes. Beyond genetic disease, emerging research indicates RBM28's role in cellular stress responses and cancer, where it interacts with tumor suppressor p53 to promote cell survival and enhances angiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma.
DPABH-02968 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate), IF/ICC (1:50–1:500) applications.
DPABH-02968 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
