GINS3 (GINS Complex Subunit 3) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Cell Cycle, Mitotic and CDK-mediated phosphorylation and removal of Cdc6. This gene encodes a protein subunit of the GINS heterotetrameric complex, which is essential for the initiation of DNA replication and replisome progression in eukaryotes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
PSF3 is a member of the heterotetrameric GINS complex which is essential for formation of replication forks and replisome progression in DNA replication. The precise function of GINS is unclear, but it is thought to activate the MCM2-7 complex and also to interact with DNA polymerases alpha and epsilon. The other members of the GINS complex are PSF1, PSF2 and SLD5. The GINS complex plays an essential role in the initiation of DNA replication, and progression of DNA replication forks. GINS complex seems to bind preferentially to single-stranded DNA. Suitable for use in Western blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
