General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-20792) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PRPF40B, targeting the amino acid region 522–871 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PRPF40B from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PRPF40B is a human gene located on chromosome 12q13.12 that encodes a nuclear protein known as pre-mRNA-processing factor 40 homolog B, which plays a key role in pre-mRNA splicing and alternative splicing regulation. The protein features two N-terminal WW domains, five FF repeat motifs, and a U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) component, enabling it to interact with other splicing factors and contribute to the spliceosome assembly process. Beyond its core splicing functions, PRPF40B has been implicated in protein-protein interactions relevant to neurological disorders; for instance, it binds to Huntingtin (HTT) and methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MECP2), potentially influencing pathways disrupted in conditions like Huntington's disease and Rett syndrome. Recent research highlights its role in promoting the full-length isoform of the neurotrophin receptor TrkB (NTRK2-TRKB-FL) through alternative splicing, which may affect neuronal signaling and survival. Widely expressed across tissues including the brain, PRPF40B's dysregulation has been linked to neuronal dysfunction, underscoring its importance in RNA processing and cellular homeostasis.
DPABH-20792 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:2,000–1:12,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate), IHC (1:50–1:500) applications.
DPABH-20792 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
