This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03421) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PRMT5, targeting the amino acid region 295–466 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5), encoded by the PRMT5 gene located on chromosome 14q11.2 in humans (also known as SKB1 or JBP1), is a crucial enzyme belonging to the family of protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs), classified as a type II PRMT that catalyzes the symmetric dimethylation of arginine residues on both histone and non-histone proteins using S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) as the methyl donor. This posttranslational modification influences protein interactions, stability, and localization, thereby regulating diverse cellular processes including gene expression, RNA splicing, signal transduction, and DNA damage response. PRMT5 functions primarily as part of a hetero-octameric complex with its cofactor methylosome protein 50 (MEP50, also known as WDR77), which enhances its enzymatic activity and substrate specificity.
DPABH-03421 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-03421 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
