This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03368) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PPIH, targeting the amino acid region 1–177 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase H (PPIH) is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes an enzyme belonging to the cyclophilin family of peptidyl-prolyl isomerases (PPIases). Located on chromosome 1 at position 1p34.2, the PPIH gene produces a protein that catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides, thereby accelerating protein folding and maturation processes essential for cellular function. This enzyme is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues, and it plays a critical role in pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosome, particularly mediating interactions in the U4/U5/U6 tri-snRNP complex. Variants in PPIH have been identified with uncertain clinical significance, and potential associations with congenital disorders such as microcephalic osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type I require further investigation. Overall, PPIH exemplifies the importance of isomerases in maintaining proteomic homeostasis and supporting diverse physiological pathways, including RNA processing.
