General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-21378) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PPEF1, targeting the amino acid region 84–454 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PPEF1, or protein phosphatase with EF-hand domain 1, is a human gene located on the X chromosome at cytogenetic band Xp22.13 that encodes a serine/threonine protein phosphatase characterized by a catalytic domain and two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs at its carboxyl terminus. This 653-amino acid protein shares homology with the Drosophila rdgC gene, which is implicated in retinal degeneration, though human PPEF1 mutations have not been linked to specific diseases, and knockout studies in mice show no significant impact on retinal function or photoreceptor integrity. Expressed prominently in the brain, particularly at high levels in fetal brain tissue, PPEF1 may play roles in cellular processes such as apoptosis regulation, genotoxic stress response, and calmodulin-dependent dephosphorylation, with emerging evidence suggesting involvement in tumorigenesis in contexts like breast cancer. The gene spans 26 exons and produces multiple isoforms, with the canonical coding region being 1,962 bp.
DPABH-21378 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-21378 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
