General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16685) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PHYHIP, targeting the amino acid region 1–330 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PHYHIP from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PHYHIP, or phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase interacting protein, is a protein encoded by the human PHYHIP gene located on chromosome 8p21.3, consisting of 330 amino acids and characterized by a molecular weight of approximately 38 kDa. This protein primarily interacts with phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase (PHYH), an enzyme crucial for the alpha-oxidation of phytanic acid, a branched-chain fatty acid implicated in disorders like Refsum disease. Expressed predominantly in the brain with lower levels in the testis, ovary, and other tissues, PHYHIP localizes to the cytoplasm and plays roles in protein localization and binding to protein tyrosine kinases, potentially influencing neural development and cellular signaling pathways.[.
DPABH-16685 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
DPABH-16685 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
