General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04534) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PHB, targeting the amino acid region 177–272 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PHB from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Prohibitins (PHBs) are a family of evolutionarily conserved proteins, primarily consisting of two isoforms—prohibitin 1 (PHB1) and prohibitin 2 (PHB2)—that function as molecular chaperones and scaffold proteins in eukaryotic cells. These ubiquitously expressed proteins, with molecular weights of approximately 32 kDa for PHB1 and 34 kDa for PHB2, were initially identified for their roles in suppressing cell proliferation, but they are now recognized for their critical involvement in mitochondrial homeostasis, cellular signaling, and stress responses. Belonging to the SPFH (stomatin-prohibitin-flotillin-HflC/K) superfamily, PHBs form high-molecular-weight hetero-oligomeric ring-like complexes in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where they stabilize respiratory chain complexes, regulate cristae architecture, and influence processes such as biogenesis, dynamics, and quality control.
DPABH-04534 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-04534 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
