This product (Catalog No. DPABH-13991) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR8I2. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR8I2 (Olfactory Receptor Family 8 Subfamily I Member 2) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes an olfactory receptor belonging to the G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is predicted to have the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure typical of olfactory receptors and is primarily expressed in olfactory sensory neurons in the nasal epithelium. OR8I2 functions by binding specific volatile odorant molecules and activating intracellular signaling pathways via olfactory G proteins (such as Golf), leading to cAMP-mediated neuronal responses that contribute to the perception of smell. Like many human olfactory receptors, its specific ligand profile and detailed functional characteristics remain largely uncharacterized.
