General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-01052) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR6P1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR6P1 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily P member 1 (OR6P1), a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) with seven transmembrane domains responsible for recognizing specific odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium to trigger neuronal signaling and the perception of smell. Located on the long arm of chromosome 1 at position 1q23.1, the gene spans coordinates 158,560,606 to 158,570,580 on the reverse strand in the GRCh38.p14 assembly. As part of the largest multigene family in the human genome, which comprises over 800 olfactory receptor genes arising from single-exon coding sequences (though OR6P1 consists of three exons), it contributes to the diversity of odor detection. Olfactory receptors like OR6P1 belong to the rhodopsin-like family of GPCRs and function by binding odorants, activating heterotrimeric G proteins (particularly Golf), and initiating a cascade that increases cyclic AMP levels, depolarizes olfactory sensory neurons, and transmits signals to the brain's olfactory bulb. Expression of OR6P1 is primarily restricted to olfactory neuroepithelium in the nose, where it plays a role in the initial step of olfaction, though some olfactory receptors may exhibit ectopic expression in other tissues under certain conditions. The gene's protein product, UniProtKB accession Q8NGX9, is a 317-amino-acid polypeptide validated through RefSeq (NM_001160325.2 → NP_001153797.1).
DPABH-01052 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-01052 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
