This product (Catalog No. DPABH-13990) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR5M9. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR5M9 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR5M9 (Olfactory Receptor Family 5 Subfamily M Member 9) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes an olfactory receptor belonging to the G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is predicted to possess the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure typical of olfactory receptors and is mainly expressed in olfactory sensory neurons within the nasal epithelium. OR5M9 participates in the detection of odorant molecules by binding specific volatile compounds and activating intracellular signaling pathways, typically involving olfactory G proteins (such as Golf), leading to cAMP-mediated neuronal responses that contribute to the perception of smell. As with many human olfactory receptors, the precise ligands and functional specificity of OR5M9 remain largely uncharacterized.
