General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-24200) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR51T1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR51T1, also known as olfactory receptor family 51 subfamily T member 1, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) involved in the detection of odorants to mediate the sense of smell. This receptor belongs to the large family of olfactory receptors, which constitute the largest gene family in the human genome, with OR51T1 specifically classified in subfamily T of family 51. The gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 11 at position 11p15.4, spanning approximately 1,065 base pairs on the forward strand, and it produces a protein of 327 amino acids with a molecular mass of about 37 kDa. OR51T1 functions primarily in the olfactory epithelium of the nasal cavity, where it interacts with odorant molecules to activate G protein-coupled signaling pathways, leading to the transduction of chemical stimuli into neural signals for odor perception. It is predicted to enable olfactory receptor activity and participate in processes such as G protein-coupled receptor signaling and sensory perception of smell, consistent with the broader olfactory signaling pathway. Expression of OR51T1 has been noted in tissues beyond the olfactory system, including the prostate gland and potentially the brain, though its precise non-olfactory roles remain under investigation.
DPABH-24200 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-24200 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
