This product (Catalog No. DPABH-10958) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR51M1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR51M1 (Olfactory Receptor Family 51 Subfamily M Member 1) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes an olfactory receptor belonging to the G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is predicted to contain the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure typical of olfactory receptors and is primarily expressed in olfactory sensory neurons of the nasal epithelium. OR51M1 participates in the detection of odorant molecules by binding specific volatile compounds and activating intracellular signaling pathways via olfactory G proteins (such as Golf), leading to cAMP-mediated neuronal responses that contribute to the perception of smell. As with many human olfactory receptors, its specific ligand profile and detailed functional characteristics remain largely uncharacterized.
