General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-08554) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR4F15. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR4F15 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR4F15 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor belonging to the olfactory receptor family 4 subfamily F, specifically olfactory receptor 4F15, which plays a role in the detection of odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium to initiate olfactory signaling. The gene is located on the forward strand of chromosome 15 at position 101,812,202-101,820,197, spanning approximately 8 kb, and consists of two exons, unlike many olfactory receptor genes that have a single exon. The encoded protein, OR4F15, comprises 312 amino acids and features seven transmembrane domains characteristic of G protein-coupled receptors, enabling it to bind odorants and activate downstream signaling pathways that lead to smell perception. Expressed primarily in the olfactory epithelium, OR4F15 contributes to the human olfactory repertoire, which includes approximately 400 functional olfactory receptor genes, though specific ligands for OR4F15 remain unidentified in current research. Like other olfactory receptors, it is subject to allelic variation and pseudogenization in some populations, influencing individual differences in odor detection.
DPABH-08554 is suitable for use in WB 1 (1000-3000) application.
DPABH-08554 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
