This product (Catalog No. DPABH-22799) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR4D5. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR4D5 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR4D5 (Olfactory Receptor Family 4 Subfamily D Member 5) is a protein-coding gene that belongs to the large olfactory receptor (OR) superfamily of G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs). OR4D5 is primarily expressed in the olfactory epithelium, where it is thought to participate in the detection of odorant molecules and the initiation of olfactory signal transduction via coupling to G proteins such as Golf. Like many OR genes, OR4D5 exhibits a typical seven-transmembrane domain structure and may display variable expression patterns across individuals. Although its specific ligand spectrum and physiological role remain incompletely characterized, OR4D5 contributes to the diversity of human olfactory perception and represents part of the highly polymorphic OR gene repertoire.
