General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-01152) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR4C3. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR4C3 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes olfactory receptor 4C3, a G protein-coupled receptor responsible for detecting specific odorant molecules in the nasal cavity to facilitate smell perception. This receptor shares the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure common to many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors, enabling it to interact with odorants and trigger G protein-mediated signal transduction in olfactory sensory neurons. OR4C3 is expressed primarily in the olfactory epithelium of the nose, where it contributes to the initial steps of olfaction by binding volatile chemical compounds and initiating neuronal responses that relay sensory information to the brain. Genomically, the OR4C3 gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 11 at cytogenetic band 11p11.2, spanning a single exon within coordinates 48,324,920 to 48,325,955 on the GRCh38 reference assembly. It belongs to the olfactory receptor (OR) gene superfamily, which is the largest multigene family in the human genome, consisting of approximately 390 putatively functional genes alongside numerous pseudogenes clustered across multiple chromosomes.
DPABH-01152 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-01152 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
