This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03293) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR2M4. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR2M4 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The gene is located on chromosome 1q44 and plays a role in detecting odorants through the olfactory system, contributing to the sense of smell. As one of approximately 400 olfactory receptor genes in humans, OR2M4 is part of the large multigene family responsible for the diversity of odor perception, with expression primarily in olfactory sensory neurons. Specific research on OR2M4 is limited, but the olfactory receptor family has been studied for involvement in olfactory disorders and evolutionary adaptations in scent detection.
