This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00328) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR2L5. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR2L5 (Olfactory Receptor Family 2 Subfamily L Member 5) is a protein-coding gene that belongs to the olfactory receptor (OR) superfamily of G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs). OR2L5 is primarily expressed in the olfactory epithelium, where it is thought to participate in odorant detection by binding specific volatile compounds and initiating intracellular signaling cascades through coupling with G proteins such as Golf, ultimately leading to cAMP-mediated neuronal responses. Like other olfactory receptors, OR2L5 contains a characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure that enables interaction with a diverse range of odorant ligands. Although its precise ligand specificity and functional properties remain incompletely characterized, OR2L5 contributes to the molecular diversity of the human olfactory system and the perception of smell.
