This product (Catalog No. DPABH-05437) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR2A12. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR2A12 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR2A12 (Olfactory Receptor Family 2 Subfamily A Member 12) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes an olfactory receptor belonging to the G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is predicted to possess the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure typical of olfactory receptors and is primarily expressed in olfactory sensory neurons within the nasal epithelium. OR2A12 functions in odor detection by binding specific volatile odorant molecules and activating intracellular signaling pathways via olfactory G proteins (such as Golf), leading to cAMP-mediated neuronal activation and contributing to the perception of smell. Like many members of the human olfactory receptor family, the specific ligand specificity and detailed functional properties of OR2A12 remain largely uncharacterized.
