General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-14064) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR10C1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR10C1 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily C member 1, a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in the olfactory epithelium of the nasal cavity. This receptor interacts with odorant molecules to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of smell, contributing to the olfactory signaling pathway. Notably, OR10C1 functions as a segregating pseudogene in human populations, where some individuals carry an allele encoding a functional receptor while others have a non-functional version due to a premature stop codon at glutamine residue 55 (Gln-55), with the pseudogenic allele being more prevalent in Asian populations. This genetic variation leads to polymorphism in olfactory capabilities across individuals. The gene is located on chromosome 6p22.1 and consists of a single exon.
DPABH-14064 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-14064 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
