General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-14528) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human NIP7, targeting the amino acid region 1–180 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human NIP7 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Nip7 was initially identified in yeast as required for processing of the 27S pre-rRNA to form the mature 25S and 5.8S rRNAs (PMID: 9891085). It localizes to the nucleolus but was also found to sediment in the region of free 60S subunits in sucrose density gradients (PMID: 9891085). Experimental evidence suggests that the P. abyssi Nip7 may be an exosome regulatory factor. It binds preferentially to U- and AU-rich RNAs and strongly inhibits the exosome due to its association with both the exosome complex and the substrate RNA. DPABH-14528 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:3,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate) applications. DPABH-14528 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
