General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-25350) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MARK3, targeting the amino acid region 1–330 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human MARK3 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. MARK3, also known as microtubule affinity-regulating kinase 3, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a serine/threonine-protein kinase essential for regulating the interaction between microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). Located on chromosome 14q32.32-q32.33, the gene produces multiple transcript variants, with the primary isoform functioning in the cytoplasm and plasma membrane to phosphorylate key MAPs such as tau, MAP2, and MAP4, thereby modulating microtubule stability and cellular polarity. Expressed ubiquitously across tissues, with highest levels in bone marrow and testis, MARK3 plays critical roles in processes like cell polarity establishment, cytoskeletal dynamics, and response to metabolic stress, and its dysregulation has been linked to conditions including visual impairment with progressive phthisis bulbi and susceptibility to osteoporosis. Research highlights its involvement in tumor suppression pathways, such as the LKB1-MARK3 axis in ovarian carcinoma, underscoring its broader implications in cellular signaling and disease pathology.
DPABH-25350 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:1,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate) applications.
DPABH-25350 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
