General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-11592) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MRPL46. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with MRPL46 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. MRPL46 (Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L46) is a human protein-coding gene that encodes a component of the large subunit of the mitochondrial ribosome (55S). Unlike cytosolic ribosomes, mitochondrial ribosomes are specialized for the translation of proteins encoded by mitochondrial DNA, most of which are essential subunits of the oxidative phosphorylation system. MRPL46 is a nuclear-encoded protein that is imported into mitochondria after translation in the cytosol, where it integrates into the mitochondrial ribosome to support mitochondrial protein synthesis. By contributing to the assembly and stability of the mitochondrial ribosome, MRPL46 plays an important role in maintaining proper mitochondrial function, including energy production and cellular metabolism. Although its precise mechanistic details are not fully characterized, it is considered essential for efficient mitochondrial translation and normal cellular bioenergetics.
DPABH-11592 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IHC 1 (50-1:200), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-11592 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
