General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-23503) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MED7, targeting the amino acid region 1–233 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. MED7, also known as mediator complex subunit 7, is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5q33.3 in humans that encodes a key component of the Mediator complex, a multisubunit coactivator essential for the regulation of RNA polymerase II-dependent transcription. This complex bridges transcription factors and the basal transcriptional machinery, facilitating the activation of gene expression in response to various cellular signals, including those from nuclear receptors like the thyroid hormone receptor. Synonyms for MED7 include ARC34, CRSP9, and CRSP33, reflecting its identification as part of the cofactor required for SP1 activation (CRSP) complex and activator-recruited cofactor (ARC). The gene produces two transcript variants that yield the same 218-amino-acid protein, which is ubiquitously expressed across human tissues, with particularly high levels in the testis and thyroid.
DPABH-23503 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-23503 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
