General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-28490) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human KLF7, targeting the amino acid region 1–175 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Krüppel-like factor 7 (KLF7), also known as ubiquitous Krüppel-like factor, is a protein encoded by the KLF7 gene in humans, belonging to the family of zinc finger transcription factors that bind GC-rich DNA sequences to regulate gene expression. This transcription factor plays essential roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival, with particularly prominent functions in nervous system development, including neuronal morphogenesis, sensory neuron survival, and regulation of genes like TrkA (NTRK1) and olfactory marker protein (OMP). KLF7 is ubiquitously expressed across tissues, with high levels in the brain and spinal cord, and alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms that localize to the nucleus to influence chromatin-associated processes. Beyond neurodevelopment, it contributes to metabolic regulation by inhibiting insulin secretion in pancreatic beta cells and altering adipocytokine production in adipocytes, thereby promoting the progression of type 2 diabetes. Dysregulation of KLF7 has also been linked to adverse outcomes in cancers such as lung adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as coronary artery disease through NF-κB-mediated macrophage activation in epicardial adipose tissue. In mouse models, Klf7 knockout leads to postnatal lethality in most cases due to sensory neuron apoptosis and impaired nociceptive responses, underscoring its critical role in neuronal maintenance.
DPABH-28490 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-28490 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
