General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04017) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human KDSR, targeting the amino acid region 63–218 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with KDSR from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. KDSR is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the enzyme 3-ketodihydrosphingosine reductase, which catalyzes the reduction of 3-ketodihydrosphingosine (also known as 3-ketodihydrosphingosine or KDS) to sphinganine (dihydrosphingosine or DHS), representing the second committed step in the de novo biosynthesis of sphingolipids. This enzyme is an endoplasmic reticulum-resident protein with its active site facing the cytosolic side of the membrane, utilizing NADPH as a cofactor and belonging to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) family (EC 1.1.1.102). The gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 18 at position 18q21.33, spanning approximately 39.5 kb with 10 exons.
DPABH-04017 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:20,000–1:80,000), Western blot (WB) (1:200–1:1,000) applications.
DPABH-04017 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.02% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
