General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-18028) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human HSD3B2, targeting the amino acid region 1–286 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. HSD3B2 is a human gene that encodes the bifunctional enzyme 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 (3β-HSD2), which is essential for the biosynthesis of steroid hormones including cortisol, aldosterone, androgens, and estrogens in the adrenal glands and gonads. Located on chromosome 1p12, the HSD3B2 gene consists of four exons and produces a 371-amino-acid protein that is highly specific to the adrenal cortex (zona fasciculata and glomerulosa) and gonadal tissues, distinguishing it from the related HSD3B1 isoform expressed primarily in placenta and non-gonadal tissues. The enzyme catalyzes the oxidative conversion of Δ⁵-ene-3β-hydroxy steroids to Δ⁴-3-keto steroids, along with NAD⁺-dependent isomerization, serving as a rate-limiting step in steroidogenesis for all major hormone classes.
DPABH-18028 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-18028 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
