General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-23999) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human HSD17B1, targeting the amino acid region 4–289 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. HSD17B1 is a human gene that encodes the enzyme hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 1 (17β-HSD1), a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family responsible for the final step in the biosynthesis of active estrogens and androgens. This enzyme catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of estrone (E1) to the potent estrogen estradiol (E2) in target tissues, as well as the conversion of androstenedione to testosterone, thereby regulating local steroid hormone levels essential for reproductive physiology and development. Located on chromosome 17q21.2, the gene consists of six exons and produces a 328-amino-acid protein predominantly expressed in hormone-dependent tissues such as the placenta, ovary, and breast.
DPABH-23999 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-23999 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
