General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-18522) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human H6PD, targeting the amino acid region 20–526 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human H6PD from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. H6PD, or hexose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, is a gene that encodes a microsomal enzyme critical for the endolumenal pentose phosphate pathway in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where it catalyzes the oxidation of glucose-6-phosphate and related substrates to generate NADPH, thereby supporting cellular redox balance and regulating the activity of 11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (HSD11B1) in glucocorticoid metabolism. Located on chromosome 1p36.22, the H6PD gene spans approximately 37 kb and consists of five exons, producing a 791-amino-acid precursor protein that forms a homodimer and utilizes NADP+ or NAD+ as cofactors. Unlike the cytosolic, X-linked glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), H6PD is autosomal and absent in erythrocytes, with expression detected ubiquitously across human tissues, particularly high in the liver, ovary, and skin.
DPABH-18522 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-18522 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
