This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03771) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human GSK3A, targeting the amino acid region 99–483 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human GSK3A from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3) is a constitutively active serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates glycogen metabolism by phosphorylating and inactivating glycogen synthase, thereby controlling glucose homeostasis in response to insulin signaling. It exists in two isoforms, GSK-3α (51 kDa, encoded on chromosome 19) and GSK-3β (47 kDa, encoded on chromosome 3), which share 97% identity in their catalytic domains but exhibit distinct physiological roles, with GSK-3β being essential for embryonic development as its knockout is lethal while GSK-3α cannot fully compensate. Structurally, both isoforms feature a conserved kinase domain and a unique mechanism requiring prior phosphorylation (priming) of substrates at a site four residues C-terminal to the target serine/threonine, enabling GSK-3 to phosphorylate over 100 substrates involved in diverse cellular processes.
DPABH-03771 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-03771 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
