General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-23825) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human GPRASP2. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with GPRASP2 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. GPRASP2 (G protein-coupled receptor associated sorting protein 2) is a protein-coding gene in humans located on chromosome Xq22.1 that encodes a member of the GASP family of proteins, which regulate the trafficking and signaling of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The encoded protein, consisting of 838 amino acids, features an N-terminal domain similar to that of GPRASP1, multiple repeats of a 15-amino acid motif, and a conserved C-terminal GASP core domain, enabling interactions with the C-terminal tails of specific GPCRs such as the M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (CHRM1) and the calcitonin receptor (CALCR). Expressed predominantly in the central nervous system, brain, and cochlea, GPRASP2 modulates GPCR sorting and signaling, with localization observed in mouse cochlear structures including the spiral ganglion and hair cells. Mutations in GPRASP2, including a hemizygous missense variant (A573N), are associated with X-linked recessive deafness (DFNX7; MIM 301018), characterized by congenital sensorineural hearing loss and, in some cases, syndromic features like external auditory canal atresia and facial dysmorphism. Additionally, GPRASP2 interacts with the N-terminus of huntingtin (HTT), showing increased binding to HTT variants with expanded polyglutamine repeats, suggesting potential roles in neurodegenerative pathways, though functional studies are limited.
DPABH-23825 is suitable for use in IHC (1:50–1:300) application.
DPABH-23825 is supplied as a liquid formulation in pH7.4 PBS, 0.05% sodium azide, 40% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
